Nike’s “Write the Future” campaign is one their best of all time. This World Cup inspired campaign now collaborating with the RED foundation joined forces to fight against HIV/AIDS. Next time you go out to pick up some kicks, make sure to pick up the (Nike)red laces. The proceeds from all laces sold go to the RED foundation, which in turn go towards preventative medicine much needed in Africa. So next time you’re out buying some kicks, make sure to cop these laces as well. Something as simple as spending a few extra bucks, will go a long way to better the lives of many. The only way to make the world a better place is if we as society do something about it, and this way really isn’t too hard. The video features the Chelsea and Ivory Coast striker, Didier Drogba. On 5.6.10 at the Coco Cabana Bar & Grill, out in Hyattsville, a show was put on for the masses.There were performances by DMV’s own Phil Ade, J.Ferb, Leimert Park’s Dom Kennedy, and the Fly Spitta Curren$y. Ridiculous line up, amazing show, and epic footage. The show was brought to you by our friends at Flyboy Radio and Task Productions. This video is brought to you courtesy of 1st Impressions Studio. They put the video together as a music video for the song “Good Bye” off of Wiz’s Deal or No Deal which dropped in 2009. The performance was at the 9:30 club, in Washington D.C. on 03/28/10. It was a great show, and this video is epic. First time I watched it, I felt like I was watching a movie, it had me tripping. The video is dope, and flows perfectly with the song. Shout out to Wiz for the sick performance, and shout out to the 1st Impressions team for the ridiculous video. Peep the video below.

But that wasn’t the case for this one. Wiz Khalifa usually draws a big crowd, at 9:30, everyone was toked out and extra nice for the show. Johnny Cupcakes Suitcase Tour- Georgetown Cupcakes 05/07/10

This past friday I stopped by Johnny Cupcakes’s Suitcase Tour which made a stop at Georgetown. The lines were pretty long, but drew a overall friendly crowd. While in line I met a couple cool folks. Luis from True Prospeks, and Karpe from Karpe the Day. They were telling me how Johnny had been a huge inspiration for them both, and how they both hoped to make it in the business. We all agreed on one thing, 9 to 5’s just ain’t for us. They had a couple of tees with them from their respective brands which they planned on giving to Johnny. Their tees were pretty dope, so I’m hoping we might collab on a project or two sometime in the near future.

After some time waiting in line we finally made it into the cupcake shop. Shout out to my man Peter for hookin it up with some bomb coconut cupcakes. Got my hands on some on some cool stuff to get signed. The man himself was a cool, laid back, calm, eclectic character. Not a lot designers will actually come out to show some love to the people, its good to see some who care. Not only caring for his fans, but also for students by lecturing at Universities. Johnny Cupcakes is an all around G and a beast at tic tac toe. My boy got embarrassed on his own tie-box, but it’s all good he got to rock the hat.

Shout out the whole Johnny Cupcakes team, they were all real cool. I’m stopping by and checking ya’ll out if I’m ever in Boston. This was a chill event where everyone had a good time, except for the Georgetown Cupcake regulars that couldn’t get their hands on their cupcakes as quick as usual. J. Ferb, Wale, and J. Cole at UMCP 04.28.10

This show at University of Maryland College Park was packed, Im talking lines out the door. This happened to be my first time ever hearing of J. Ferb, and he seemed like a cool laid back dude. Some of his tracks deserve a real good listen. The huge crowd lit up as soon as J. Cole stepped onto the stage. Both of these guys ripped it but the highlight of the night was when DMV icon Wale, along with Tre from UCB had guest appearances to perform the song “Beautiful Bliss.” The night ended with Tre singing “Sexy Lady” and called it a wrap. They put on a great show, and did I mention it was free? Shout out to the NAACP for making that possible. Peep the video that 1st Impressions Studio put together below.
